When (and how) can I purchase Stampin’ Kits?

Starting in early Spring of 2025, Stampin’ Kits will be available on the Goblin Hobbies webstore for customers living in the United States. We will also have a booth at Adepticon in Milwaukee this year, and we expect to be selling there!

Will Goblin Hobbies be available outside of the USA?

Yes. Although we are starting with sales to customers who live in the United States, we have plans to expand around the world including the UK, EU, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. We’re endeavoring to find solutions that will keep prices reasonable. We do not have dates for this yet, but we will send email notifications when we have fulfillment set up for new regions.

Who are Stampin’ Plates for?

These stamps are intended for model hobbyists working in a wide variety of settings. Futuristic and fantasy wargamers, historical gamers, board gamers, RPG players, and model builders will all find useful designs in our collection.

What Scales are Stampin’ plates intended for?

The patterns and iconography are available in multiple sizes, often within a single Stampin’ Plate. This gives more options within a given scale and between different scales.

Will you have the XYZ logo from Setting ABC?

We’re being careful not to step on any toes with regards to Intellectual Properties, but we do have plenty of generic and original patterns and iconography that might be useful to you! In the future we may seek out collaborations and licensing deals with game and model companies.

What kind of paint can I use?

Stampin Color is a solvent-based paint which is very closely related to nail polishes which have been specifically designed for stamping. There is no harm in trying other paints, but most standard acrylic miniature paints will not work well.

Do I need acetone?

Yes, to clean Stampin’ Plates between uses you will need a small supply of acetone or similar solvent.

What colors can I use?

You can stamp any of the designs with any color. We are launching Stampin’ Colors with black, white, red, and light-gray. To access other colors, you can stamp with white and brush colorful ink or acrylic wash over the top. Alternatively, nail stamp polishes from the cosmetics industry work well and come in a wide variety of colors. We can recommend the brand Maniology. Please let us know what other colors we should add to the line of Stampin’ Colors in the future!

Can I buy a custom Stampin’ Plate with my own designs?

We do not plan on selling single copies of custom plates. That being said, we will listen to our customers as we design fresh new plates for upcoming releases. We want to know what themes, patterns, and iconography you’re interested in stamping!

Will Stampin Plates be Available in Retail stores like my FLGS?

Our initial plan is to do direct web sales to customers in the United States, followed by web sales in other regions. The idea of getting Goblin Hobbies products into brick and mortar stores is exciting, though! We would like to have a retail presence someday, but it is not our immediate priority.

Our Stampin’ Colors are cruelty free and “5 free”

At Goblin Hobbies, we love our furry, four-legged friends and value the importance of recognizing and protecting the rights of all animals and the cruelty against them in animal testing. Our Stampin’ Color products are not tested on animals, and we do not commission any third party to test any of our Stampin’ Colors on animals.

Goblin Hobbies Stampin’ Colors are 5-free. This means that our paints are not only made without 3 of the most common harmful chemicals:

formaldehyde

toluene

dibutyl phthalate a.k.a. DBP

Found in many nail polishes. We've gotten rid of 2 other undesirable chemicals as well:

formaldehyde resin

camphor

These chemicals can be harmful to reproduction, developmental growth, and may even cause cancer with prolonged exposure. Formaldehyde resin and camphor can cause allergic reactions like dermatitis, yellowing, and dried out nails.

Can you use regular nail polish with my Goblin Hobbies Stampin’ Plates?

Yes! The main difference between stamping polish and regular nail polish is that stamping polish is usually thicker and is packed with pigment. Some regular polishes will work for stamping, but the results will vary and so will the opacity. Try with regular polishes that are opaque in 1 coat, and they should work. Avoid sheer, glitter, or any specialty finishes as they will not work well.

Tip: Older nail polish tends to thicken up over time, so you can use older nail polish for stamping!

If you are having a tough time with your new stamper:

If this is your first time using a clear stamper, it takes a slightly different technique than a regular solid rubber or silicone stamper. Please follow our checklist below to troubleshoot!

1. Clean the stamper head gently with dish soap and water, dab dry with a paper towel. You can clean the stamper in between uses with scotch tape or a lint roller for easy cleanup.

2. Use a quick light rolling action when picking up the design from the plate, just barely touching the plate. The MOST common issue we see is pressing too hard or too long. Use a light touch, just a flick of the wrist!

3. Make sure no fans or A/C are creating a direct draft toward your workstation. It can dry out the paint quicker.

4. Play around with pressures and rolling movements to find what works for you.

5. Clean the plate with 100% acetone only after EVERY attempt. Other types of removers will not clean the plate properly, leaving behind residue that will affect your results. So none of that "nourishing nail polish remover" stuff.

What if I own or manage an FLGS and want to carry Stampin Kits in my store?

That’s awesome! Please reach out to us via info@goblinhobbies.com or through our contact page. We are making a list of interested stores for when the time comes. :-)
